FSN Capital has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Firesafe
Oslo, May 27, 2022
Headquartered in Oslo, Norway, Firesafe is a leading fire safety services provider, covering installation, maintenance, controlling and advisory services within building fire protection.
Firesafe employs more than 800 employees across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. In 2021, the company generated net revenues of more than NOK 1 billion.
Firesafe plays a key role in ensuring that commercial, public and residential properties are compliant with local fire regulations. This is an area of increasing importance in the Nordics, as older buildings are being renovated to comply with modern building safety requirements.
The company acts as a one-stop-shop provider within fire safety services, with offerings including advisory, installation and service on existing fire protection solutions. Firesafe’s services cover both active fire protection systems, which are deployed to directly fight a fire and help people to safety, and passive fire protection systems, which help stop fires from spreading in a building.
Firesafe CEO Morten Ameln, who has been the company’s sole shareholder since 2010, will reinvest along with FSN Capital to retain a material minority stake in the company.
Eskil Koffeld, Principal at FSN Capital Partners, commented: “Firesafe plays an important role in society, protecting people from the threats of fire and securing physical property. In recent years, the company has grown to become a Nordic leader in this attractive market, and we see great opportunities to accelerate Firesafe’s growth in partnership with the company’s skilled and highly experienced organization.”
Morten Ameln, CEO and owner of Firesafe, commented: “I am excited to welcome FSN as partner in our continued growth journey. We have found a partner bringing relevant experience and competencies to help us in taking Firesafe to the next stage of growth. In collaboration, we will develop, grow and professionalize Firesafe, still with the mission to contribute to increasing fire safety awareness and to create a safer society.”
FSN Capital was advised by Kearney, Schjødt, PwC, Frank Partners and Marsh.
Firesafe was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in Norway, offering a broad range of services within fire safety and protection. The company is active within both passive and active fire protection and offers installation of products and systems for fire safety, as well as recurring service and maintenance of such products and systems to ensure safety and compliance. As a thought leader in the industry, Firesafe also offers advisory services on fire safety solutions to ensure optimal design and usage across a wide array of property types.
