FSN Capital is pleased to announce that Knut N. Kjær, previous CEO of the Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund, has joined FSN Capital as our new Chairman from August 1st 2011.
Prior to joining FSN Capital Mr. Kjær was president of RiskMetrics Group in New York and had direct responsibility for the firm’s global risk and corporate governance businesses. Mr. Kjær was the Chief Executive Officer of Norges Bank Investment Management since inception in 1997 until 2007/8. In that capacity, Mr. Kjær was responsible for the operative management of The Norwegian Government Pension Fund (The Oil Fund) and the management of Norway’s foreign reserves. In 1986 he co-founded and became a partner of the Economic Analysis Centre ECON. From 1994 to 1997 he was Executive Vice President of Storebrand.
Mr. Kjær will be executive chairman and part time Partner in FSN Capital Partners AS, which includes Chairmanship and Directorship in FSN companies and the FSN Capital Funds, as well as heading FSN Capital’s Investment committee.
In addition to his role in FSN Capital, Mr. Kjær is a member of the Investment Committee of the Dutch fund ABP, the largest pension fund in Europe, member of the International Advisory Board of China Investment Corporation, and a member of the commission that manages the Irish National Pensions Reserve Fund.
Mr. Kjær holds a Masters Degrees in Economics and a degree in political science from The University of Oslo, and an Advanced Management degree from Harvard Business School.
