FSN Capital III invests in the two leading Danish bakeries; Lagkagehuset and Skallebæks Bageri

13.10.2008

FSN Capital III establishes a high quality bakery chain through the merger of Lagkagehuset and Skallebæks Bageri.

The two companies were both founded more than 18 years ago and the two founders, Ole Kristoffersen og Steen Skallebæk, have known each other for more than a decade. The bakeries focus on high quality fresh bakery products and both brands and the founders are well regarded in Denmark. The bakeries have three outlets today and are currently setting up a fourth bakery in Åbenraa, Denmark.

“The bakery industry is a highly fragmented industry with a stable underlying demand. There is a significant opportunity to establish a leading high quality bakery chain. FSN Capital looks forward to supporting the future growth of the newly established group together with its founders and employees”, says Thomas Broe-Andersen, Partner at FSN Capital.

“We see significant growth opportunities for a high quality bakery chain in Denmark, and are delighted to have found a strong partner in FSN Capital to support us in this development. With its strong experience in developing and supporting fast-growing businesses, FSN Capital represents a very valuable resource to the group going forward”, says founders Ole Kristoffersen and Steen Skallebæk

The investment in Lagkagehuset and Skallebæks Bageri is the first investment in FSN Capital’s third fund. In previous funds, FSN
Capital has made ten platform investments in the Nordic countries and twenty add-on acquisitions around the world.
